The difference betweem double acting pneumatic actuator vs spring return pneumatic actuator
The double-acting and spring-return operation mode is a feature of the HXY series heavy-duty scotch yoke pneumatic actuator and the JAT series rotary rack and pinion pneumatic actuator from Zhejiang Jimai Auto-tech Co., Ltd.
The spring return type, also known as the single-acting type, has the springs assembled within the actuator body, whereas the double-acting type does not. This is a clear distinction between the two modes.
The working principle will differ due to the presence of springs within the actuator body for the spring return type. The actuator body is always equipped with two air inlet apertures that are situated in front of the surface. JIMAI will perform laser printing to identify these two holes as "A" and "B." Occasionally, the actuator will be installed in conjunction with a Limit Switch Box and solenoid valve. The piston will rotate clockwise when the actuator is opened due to air pressure in the A opening in the case of the double-acting type. In order to close the actuator, the consumer must apply air pressure to the B hole.
The spring return type Pneumatic Actuator will operate in a straightforward manner. The double-acting and spring-return types exhibit identical external appearances. Additionally, the surface contains "A" and "B" holes. For spring return type actuators, customers have the option of selecting either an air-to-open or air-to-close feature. Air to open indicates that the actuator is typically closed, while air to close indicates that the actuator is typically open. The working condition will determine the decision. If the environment necessitates the actuator to remain operational, the air-to-close form will be selected. The actuator will be opened when air pressure is present in the A hole, and it will be automatically closed under the spring force when air pressure is ceased, if the actuator is of the air-to-open type. Therefore, the spring return type actuator is suitable for situations that necessitate a higher level of safety. Additionally, the spring return type facilitates system control.
